We sat in this square which is shadowed by a statue of Mr Vanvitelli who I am ashamed to know nothing about despite having also stayed in a lovely hotel of his namesake. This piazza is adorned with extra large palm trees and a magnificent house presumably owned by Mr Vanvitelli there is seating with curiously padlocks on some. When we were there it attracted student photographers snapping away at various features, although this not a large piazza it still never the less manages to capture a piece of Italian tranquility with an ice cream kiosk of course nearby…

Mr. Lodewijk van Wittel (Luigi Vanvitelli) deserves better honour in Caserta. Indeed, Caserta is known because of the art of Mr. Vanvitelli. The Caserta's square with his name is very poor and not maintained. Nothing so amazing.

Set in a rather untidy square the statue points the way to the Royal Palace. Follow the right hand and its about a 10 minute walk.

The monument to luigi is large and grand but it is just a statue. He does point to the Reggia but not much else is note worthy.
