The Fortezza is built on the high point of Arezzo and offers great views of the town and countryside. It was built in the 1500's on the site of earlier fortifications. It is now surrounded by gardens and statues. The entrance tunnel is very impressive....More

The fortress is hidden behind the trees and you can't see it from the near-by park with monument to Petrarca. When visiting the cathedral and the Piazza grande, you should visit the fortress as well. You can park on Pietri parcheggio and use the escalators...More

Definitely worth visiting the fortezza medicea offers an insightful view into the city history. The renovations made the place more accessible and created bespoke walking paths. Very nice.
