Very good Tourist Information office located in the Palazzo del Commune
Jul 2019
The Palazzo del Commune is a 14th century Palazzo that is located diagonally across the via Ricasoli from the Cathedral.

This very good Tourist Information Centre had some good maps and very helpful staff who were particularly useful in advising of the times as to when certain attractions opened as a large part of Arezzo goes to sleep for two to three hours during the middle of the day and if you were not aware of this you may miss seeing certain attractions thinking they are permanently closed.

There was also a very good film on Arezzo and the Giostra del Saracino (The Saracen Joust Festival in Arezzo) in a separate room as well as a free exhibition showcasing the historical costumes, colours and equipment used by the participants in the Giostra del Saracino.

Arezzo is a great place to visit. Made better by the friendly and informative Tourist Office. So much easier to see everything when given maps and general info. Very helpful.

Very helpful ...

The information office is right outside the train station and easy to locate. The staff were very helpful, spoke quite good English, and provided us with maps and brochures. As with many Italian offices, they are closed from 2:30-6:00PM, which can be inconvenient.

Conveniently located outside of the railway station.
I visited twice during my week's stay, and found the staff most helpful, and appeared happy to be able to, not only help me, but also to practice their English.
Information regarding the local bus services was available from an office 100 yards away, where the same level of help was available.

I was staying in an Airbnb and had been to Arezzo before, so did not need help with orientation to the town. What I did need help with, however, was in figuring out the logistics of getting to Sansepolcro and Monterchi to see the Piero Della Francesco paintings. The woman in the tourist office looked up bus schedules, discussed options with me, and provided an excellent map of Sansepolcro. She was extremely knowledgeable and joined in my enthusiasm for the Piero sites.
With her assistance, I successfully travelled by bus to these two towns and had the opportunity to see these spectacular paintings.

Tourist Info or tourist kiosk?

I think there is some confusion over what is being reviewed. The official tourist help center is very helpful. We had a lot of travel questions regarding trains and buses. We recieved a lot of help, including free guides. I completely recommend visiting the help center, very near the train station.

Adequate without excelling. I doubt many could not afford half a Euro for a simple street map but would they not be better marketing their city by offering this free? - that said it was very useful to wander around the streets & find the relevant sites. Also they serve inexpensive coffee which was as good as any "chain" coffee.

A small shop, selling the usual items. It didn't feel anything unusual like most tourist information places.
Perhaps My view was jaundiced by the 20 children who visited at the same time and all wanted to use the toilets.

Friendly enthusiastic staff

Your first stop off of the train should be here. Staffed by energetic helpful folks with loads of great information. My tear off map was free so I can't comment on previous commenters' saying that it cost for the map. This is an easily walkable town and the tourist office provided us with the "don't miss" sites as well as some others a little more off the beaten path.
