Interesting duomo. The truth is that I didn't enjoyed Agrigento as a city, is very chaotic and full of garbage. This duomo maybe it will be nicer after restoration.

Very interesting building. You can see the influences of the various bishops/builder/time periods. Goes back to around 1099 when the consecration was done. During the 1000 years thereafter it has been renovated. One renovation that was partially accomplished was the introduction of massive rococo embellishments...More

It is possible to enter there, but the main part is still on restoration. According the parts visible, has to be magnificent as the restoration would be complete

This is a fascinating medieval cathedral at the highest point in the old town of Agrigento. The interior is most unusual in that the architecture changes style as you go down the nave, from Norman, to gothic, to a wild baroque explosion of decoration in...More

Some lovely features but not enough to hold attention for long. Would say it is worth popping in while wandering this beautiful city

As with many churches in Sicily, The Cathedral of San Gerlan is a mixture of different styles of the Norman & Baroque schools. The cathedral is very impressive and a joy to see especially the amazing Baroque elements. I recommend going up in the Bell...More

In the first part of the church the style is Gotic Chiaramont; The presbytery is Baroque and Renaissance style is expressed onthe façade of the bell tower. Is a different monument, but very interesting.

Lovely architecture and baroque section but mostly being renovated and the staff were not at all helpful. We decided not to pay the extra to see the tower cos it didn't look that exciting.

Peaceful cathedral, located on hill. It is on restoration but open for visitors, free. Located not far from central street. 10mins walk.
