Do not go there
Oct 2019 • Couples
Not worth the trip. The amphitheater is covered with plastic screens - while I do understand that they want to preserve it, the plastic unfortunately takes everything away from it being a place worth a visit. Though 4 euros is relatively cheap, we felt like we overpaid, given that all we got to see was a plastic screens. It’s just not worth the extra km needed to drive to get there.

Eraclea Minoa beach
Sep 2019
Lovely beach, hardly any people that time when we visited it. Warm water, mostly sandy , small waves no need to swim just sit in the sea. :) Free parking is available.

Nice
Jun 2019
Very nice sandy beach with a thick pine forest behind where you can rest and relax.
The water is less clean than other beaches on the Agrigentino coast. There are several free parking lots near the beach. Recommended for a regenerating break.

Minor site, good museum
Jun 2019 • Couples
We are, admittedly, geeks and couldn't pass on a Magna Grecia site, but this one was more than a little disappointing. The theatre is small and in poor condition and the structure shading it makes it difficult to view while providing no shade for the viewer. The small museum was actually more rewarding than the site.

Looks like the funding has run out!
Mar 2019 • Family
We were really looking forward to visiting this ancient Greek site but what a disappointment as it looks like any initial funding ran out some time ago.

The staff on site looked bored and disinterested and most of the signage had faded in the sun or in some cases had fallen over and were broken, with no obvious booklets or site plans to consult it was difficult to interpret what we were looking at. The amphitheater is not easily viewed due to a protective plastic roof which is held up by scaffolding however, due to several panels lying broken on the ground it was fenced off with tape making it even more harder to access. The museum has some wonderful artifacts and at least these can be marvelled at.

It's hard not to be negative about the site in general but governmental austerity measures have clearly taken their toll and except for the stunning scenery it's worth thinking twice about going!

great place
Oct 2018 • Couples
we have been there on a Saturday in Oct with great weather. The place was not crowded at all. The view is great, and if you swim and see it from the sea, it is even better.

Well worth it.

4 Euros to get in. A bagain by anyones standard. Beautiful walk along the path overlooking the sea. The artifacts in the museum are worth the money alone in my opinion. I Woud have liked to have seen the english signs more prominent as they were mostly faded and not legible. Nevertheless we had a lovely time, and would recommend.

sad
Oct 2018 • Couples
a sad little site down a road that looks like no-one ever uses it, nobody else there, and pretty much no explanations as to what anything is - you can recognise an amphitheatre - but that's about it!
