Loved the day out at Cromford. The rustic cafe, feeding the ducks and the barge trip. Really looked after, the guys were brilliant, really looked after everyone. A full barge so a bit of a tight squeeze but the whole family loved it.

Went for the canal trip really enjoyed it very informative. A bit cramped but lead to more of an appreciation on how canal families actually lived.

We were lucking enough to go on the trip when the boat was being pulled by the horse as it used to be when barges worked the canals. This though, was no essential carrying of cargo but just a peaceful, leisurely almost silent meander. Essential...More

Was looking for activities to go with a teen and a dog.... finding Birdswood was fantastic, lovely relaxing trip with a very knowledgeable skipper. Very dog friendly, there were 6 dogs on board, luckily they all got on. Would highly recommend this little trip.
