Swanbourne Beach faces West, it's a great place to view the sunset over the Indian Ocean. The beach is not far from Perth city, it's near Claremont and Nedlands. The conditions are good, the attractive beach is patrolled by the Swanbourne Graylands Surf Life Saving Club. Swanbourne is one of the best-known nude beaches in Western Australia, where swimmers can express their natural bodies.

Swanbourne Beach faces west, it's a great place to view the sunset. The beach is patrolled by the Swanbourne-Nedlands Surf Life Saving Club during the summer season, but the surf is rarely threatening. Swanbourne Beach is known as a nudist beach, you don't have to be young and beautiful, just take off your gear and jump in. By the way, the only people who aren't welome are the pervs who hide out in the sandhills.

Took my partner to the nude beach for her first time. She loved it, felt very liberating for her.
Lots of stares as she’s extremely attractive but that’s cool, it was a confidence boost for her and that made me happy.
Didn’t see anyone pulling their pud to her or discreetly filming, but she swears some of the men would give themselves a half chub before walking past.
LOTS of lonesome men. But was nice to see a few couples and younger friends groups.
I left her to walk a million miles back to the car for more water as it was an almost 40oC day and she said no one bothered her.
We avoided sitting close to the dunes as I assumed if there are any creepers, that’s where they’d be.
The only gripe I have is that we need better access to the beach. Maybe a footpath closer to the nude section. But I guess that would encourage more creepers to come have a peep from the bushes.

So different from our last visit 9 years ago when there was a healthy naturist community with groups of friends, volleyball court, and a balanced mix of gender. We went on a Saturday and the walked past the textile section looking for the nude side which starts about 250 meters past the last footpath entrance. It was 95% male with several creepy looking characters both stationary and walkers. May give Port Kennedy in Rockingham a try, but doubt we'll be back to Swanbourne.

As soon as we sat down, old sleazy men started hanging around waiting for my wife to take her clothes off. We spoke to another couple who experienced the same thing. The beach is absolutely beautiful but I can’t imagine any lady would feel comfortable being naked there. We have seen some really lovely nude beaches in WA but this one left us both feeling violated. Just don’t.

Swanbourne Beach has relatively gentle surf, which makes it good fo swimming, but notgood for surfing. During the high season, the beach is patrolled by the Swanbourne-Nedlands Surf Life Saving Club. The beach is west-facing. In Perth, Swanbourne Beach is known as a nudist beach, You don't have to be beautiful, just turn up and shed your clothes

I love this beach but have had so many unpleasant experiences. I try to set up nearer to couples/women if there are any around. The beach is FULL of men alone and there are a few who will blatantly stare at you and set up uncomfortably close to you even though the beach is huge. Just today a man approached me THREE times on his way to the water, once to ask if it’s cold, once to ask for sunscreen (??) and once to ask for the time.. get f***d. Stop approaching women on the beach!!! I saw him rubbing his pathetic little monkey chode quite a lot too. Not the first time I’ve seen that behaviour.

I've been to this beach 3 times because of all the great reviews it had and its been a nightmare EVERY time. The first time I was hit on twice (while lying on my towel which is totally invasive) & gauped at so much I had to move 4 times) but I thought maybe I was unlucky that day so I'd give it another go, the second time was even worse! Despite there being miles and miles of sand and space I had men pitching up two feet from me all day like I was in peep show & blatantly just perving. I eventually left when the last guy went into the dunes behind & started masturbating! I'm used to European nudist beaches where everyone keeps to themselves but this beach is not like that at all. It's as if the men think because you're alone & naked your fair game & they can perv at you & come on to you all they want. The 3rd & final time (I hate tan lines & this is the closest free beach to my apartment) I thought if I brought a wind breaker & set it up around me so i can't be seen by passers by then the sleezys will get the hint & stay at a respectable distance. Nope! With absolutely no shame or any sense of encroaching on a strangers personal space, there was a non stop brigade of men walking right over & having a good old stare. If you're with a man then this beach is great. Lovely clean sand & it goes on for miles.
But if youre a woman alone just trying get a line free tan in peace, forget about it. It's a really intimidating & uncomfortable place where your personal space is violated non stop.

This is a beautiful stretch of wild windy coast with large surfing waves and fine white sand. Do not bother swimming here if you are not used to Perth's surfing beaches.
This is one of the two nudist beaches near Perth (the other in Rockingham which is a 40+min drive south) and it's worth a visit if you want to be free from clothing.
I went with a female friend on a monday in mid-January and there was a noticeable lack of females at this beach. This was the first time we visted to a nudist beach and we settled at the base of the dunes. This was our first mistake. Although the coastal stretch here goes on for hundreds of metres, an elderly naked gentleman decided to lie on his towel about 5m away from us up in the sloping part of the dune as soon as we settled on our spot. We witnessed the same thing occur to two females who also decided to lie at the base of the dunes. Almost immediately a male came and settled about 5m away from them also and put up his wind breaker (it was a windy day) and proceeded to strip. After a while we moved ourselves away from the dune and settled near the surf in a wide open area. The gentleman who was camped close to us immediately got up and left! If you are uncomfortable with men staring at you, then this nudist beach is best avoided.
Even out in the open, expect roving eyes from passing men (one man fully dressed!) walking along the beach for no other reason than taking a glace towards you. After a while we realised that there were many men (mostly middle aged) up hidden within the dunes and they occasionally pop up their heads to survey the land, just like meerkats! I would estimate that there were around 50 people scattered around the beach and the dunes. There were only two couples (including us), and two other females and the rest were all men (mostly single men).
Other than the staring problem, the beach is brilliant! LOL
If you are a single female and do not want the unwanted attention, then I would completely avoid this nudist beach.
If, on the other hand, you are interested in studying human behaviour or you you're a bit of a exhibitionist, then this is a great beach waiting for you!
(The review of this beach was on a monday, so it wasn't the busiest time of the week. It was also windy so that would have kept people away. We will have to report back when it's busy and balanced with more couples and females.)

Very nice place to go cloth free. Friendly and genuine nudists. Both males and females on the beach. Tip to make your visit more enjoyable - don't go into sand dunes (it is prohibited anyway) or far away from the start point of clothing optional section. Stay with main group of nudists close to the sea (specially if you are a single women). Everyone is just enjoying the beach in their own space. Haven't seen any bad behaviors. You don't have to bare all if that is not your choice. It is clothing optional and you are free to make your choice.

Been there! Done that!, a few times. Includings the indoor nudist club at Morley. That was long, since the last I been to Perth. It is an interesting experiences. You could only go nude between the two flag poles.
