Love theatre, film, music, comedy and exhibitions? Then you'll love The Atkinson. The museum Between Land and Sea: 10,000 years of Sefton's Coast with the permanent exhibition Discover Ancient Egypt featuring The Goodison Collection means Sefton finally has a place to share its history. With Children's theatre, some of the biggest names in comedy, music and art The Atkinson really is a cultural pick 'n' mix for all the family. The Atkinson is a focal point for the town centre. Set in a grade II listed building in the centre of Lord Street in Southport. The Atkinson is managed and run by Sefton Council. Please check our website for full opening hours. The Museum & Exhibitions are open 10am - 4pm Monday to Saturday and 11am -4pm on a Sunday. We are only open on Sunday during Sefton School Holidays.

Visited several times for really good coffee and a big piece of cake. Food looks good as well. Plenty of comfortable seats.

Been here several times with the grandchildren. Musuem great lots of interactive activities. Also gingerbread man decorating. Offers so much and most of it free.

Sandwiches are excellant, good selection of cakes. a lovely stop off when in Southport. There is the library and the art gallery to visit in the same building

Most visitors like the the LORD ST area with it's tree lined Victorian look,while in that area it is worth a visit here.The programmes are varied, some free and some require payment....there is something here for all ages.check the attractions on their website.The local history...More

Fascinating exhibition of Viking paraphernalia all presnted in glass cases and other forms. There was people dressed in Viking attire who told stories and poems !

Yes. The front door automatically open, we have disabled toilets and a lift to all floors. A full access statement is on our website.
