Very good pint of ale. A really basic pub but the beer was good. Scruffy place. Wouldn't take the wife there but I enjoyed it.

A very good alehouse. Staff know their beers and are very friendly. Comfortable shabby chique decor and nice dog. Beers are excellent...mostly locally sourced where possible. Real fire maintained and lit with considerable effort and occasional colourful language. ( joke) Without seeming to sound pretentious it is an intelligent pub with proper pub rubbish talked by all.

Stopped in for a sample of ale and a nice malt, great selection of ales and quality Malt whiskey, our host Charlie was very attentive. A must go to place.

Very good ale served by pleasantly unorthodox staff in higgledypiggledy bar. Quirky display of drinks, including Fernet Branca, the Italian bitters served in Italy to cure too much salami. Three delightful dogs greeted me during my 2 visits , the biggest being Charlie, the cheerful 17 year-old Pointer/Wolfhound, and keeper of the dedicated inn-keeper Kenny.
To be fair, the place was a bit of a tip, but the ale was well-kept and well-served in oversize glasses which initially had me wondering if everybody was being served short-measures, which is much more likely in my experience in Wetherspoons bars where the poor over-stretched young staff are, well, over-stretched. In fact, however, the Ericht Ale House serves a full-pint that does not include froth. Will definitely return.

Lovely bar staff and locals. Great selection of Scottish beers and ciders and cheap whiskies. Place could do with modernising but just part of the charm

What a great find this was. I was just passing through on a quick trip around Scotland and had found an Hotel in Blairgowrie. Used Whatpub to find a beer and it came up with this place. SUPERB is the word to describe it. 5 Real Ales on all in great condition. The locals and the owner were chatty. I had a really good evening.

Real ale bar so different to Weatherspoons(who are killing all local pubs as soon as they come to towns by cheap beer to grab the young crowds).
Staff welcoming including the german wirehaired pointer the de facto manager.
Beers and ales good and allowed to stand if needed top up,
A little run down but welcoming and relaxful.

After taking the dog for a walk around Blairgowgrie we decided to pop in for a pint. What was supposed to be one pint quickly turned into two as the quality of beer was excellent. We were greeted by friendly staff on the way in, and were given a good run down on the beers available. We brought our 5 month old dog along, and it was his first time in a pub, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming towards him along with the pub dog Charlie. We would definitely recommend this pub to anyone who loves good beer and good company. Its a shame we live in Dundee, otherwise this would certainly be our local.
