This review is about the beach itself, not about any accommodations or other businesses. I loved the beach. Amazing for a morning walk before and after sunrise which is the most beautiful I have seen. I woke up early every morning just for this. Quite a few people doing the same thing and a few joggers.
There is a small patrolled area with stinger nets. This is also lovely and well kept and the lifeguards working there are nice and they’ll answer any safety questions you might have. I went for a swim there a few times and it was really nice.
The beach is lovely overall but choose the accommodation carefully.

This was our very first visit to Mission Beach on Monday 02/10/23 travelling from Cairns. The views from the beach were amazing & arriving around 9:30am the beach area wasn't very busy with tourists & locals.
Unfortunately we didn't have much time due to catching up with friends living a few KM away, we hope to return to mission beach sometime in the near future.

Lovely Beach but during our stay, it was too hot during the day and full of jellyfish. No phone reception (Vodafone) and full of mossies the entire time. Alot of the nicer restaurants are closed during the week and the other places were not air conditioned and unfortunately it was a steady 43 degrees each day. We went, we saw (what was open HaHa) and we conquered. Wouldnt really rush back though.

Terrible park by all accounts. The bigger cabins are nice but forget it if you are a couple or single wanting to stay in a cabin as they are only fit for knocking down. If you're into injecting hard drugs and need a place to hole up for a while this is the perfect place for you.Such a shame that this establishment has gone this way when Mission beach needs all the help it can get from tourist dollars. Trust me there are better places to spend it than Bali Hai caravan park.

Avoid this place like a Chinese wet market. Seriously shameful state of affairs when a beautiful town like Mission beach has a caravan park run like this. Please don't spend your money here. Look elsewhere.

Over priced accommodation. Stayed in a cabin in a caravan park. 33% dearer than Tully Heads. Food costly bring your own. OK place to visit but not stay for any lenght of time.

The previous reviewer may have given 1 star to their choice of accommodation, but I would give at least 3 stars if I had to sleep in a sack by the side of the main road. Mission Beach is fantastic. With 4 small towns making up the entire Mission Beach area, we stayed at Wongaling beach in a fantastic place called Clovelly Cottage. This place is 10 metres from the front of the beach and has uninterrupted views across the ocean to Dunk Island. We have recommended CC to other friends who live in Oz, they have been and completely agreed with our interpretation of its exceptional value for money and high standards.

The previous reviewer was perhaps unfortunate to drop on one MB host who did not extend the usual cheerful MB welcome. However, you just cannot fail to enjoy life whilst staying in this exceptionally beautiful area.

Do not trust these paradisiac pictures: marine crocodiles are lurking around in the murky waters. Even wading along the beach is risky, they could grab you. Nobody there is crazy enough to enter the sea, everybody who wants a bath goes to the hotel pool. But no need to drive so far away to find a swimming pool. Without crocs !

Beautiful beach, helpful tourist info. When you walk down Main Street sign says DOG FREE ZONE the sign is both ends of the Main Street. The only town from Victoria to Port Douglas that is unwelcoming to any family that has a pet dog. Wow if they do want tourists then they need to get with the times as so many other towns do it so well. We won't be turning off to Mission Beach again and won't recommend it to others.
