We are lucky in Bedford to have the beautifully renovated Higgins Museum. There is a series of rooms to view and the special exhibitions they have are relevant to today and yesterday.

Very good free museum - art, local history, general history......all well presented. The only negative was the loud music from the Italian restaurant below it

Excellent collections and displays for a great variety of interests. Well presented and laid out with easy access and information. Would repay several visits as hard work to take in at one go. Well signposted for access.

For me, this museum lost some of its character when it was comprehensively remodeled some years ago, but it still contains a fine art collection and an important collection of furniture by William Burgess. Unfortunately, from my very personal perspective, it also possesses a massive...More

Excellent collection of art (particularly prints) and artefacts by national and local artists, with wonderful displays that change regularly. Particularly love the works that the museum has by Edward Bawden.
