Picked up a leaflet for this place at our B & B and as it was a lovely sunny day we decided to visit. Its on the site of an old runway and for those that remembered the foot & mouth crisis was the site...More
There are lots of paths - the former runways surrounding the site and forays into woodlands and ponds. Birds/trees/fantastic wild flowers. These are all free. It's well organised with payable extras like a cafe, cycle tracks & lessons, cycle & wheelchair bikes.
My husband and I decided to go to watchtree as it was perfect weather to have a wander around the nature reserve. My husband has asthma and unable to walk far. We knew that we could hire a 2 seater bike. I peddled and my...More
We visited this place twice, on both occasions we had a great time cycling around the well maintained tracks. There are some sections that are classed as off road and did contain a few muddy patches, but these can be easily avoided.

Quite cycling with the kids. Perfect for letting them burn off some steam. Tarmaced for the majority but we thought the off road was a little more challenging and so fun too. Very knowledgeable staff. Great day out
We came here we very little cycling experience and an 11 month old

We had a lovely walk around this nature reserve which is nice and flat so an easy walk. The bird hides add a bit of interest and the paths are clearly set out. Disappointed no decent coffee at the end of the walk.More

We visited this nature reserve on Sunday, it’s a very popular place for family walks. The reserve is well laid out, the perimeter walks is approx 2miles, you can also hire bikes for adults and children. Worth a visit when in Carlisle area
