This fishermen town or small city gives you an excellent idea how Norwegian people have coped with natural elements such as wind and sea/water. The guided walk leads you to various significant spots in the town, such as the shopping streets with its typical facades,...More

Alesund is a pretty little city that has some very interesting architecture. It is spotlessly clean, streets well-laid out, harbor area very scenic. We toured around near where the Serenade of the Seas was docked and you could see the ship pretty much wherever you...More

This was an easy enough walk through several blocks of town to take in bits of history and especially the architecture. Some spots would be difficult for use of a walker or wheelchair. The guide was knowledgable, attentive to the questions and interests of the...More

Run by the Tourist Information Office at the waterfront, this is good value for money, no doubt because the multi-lingual guides are dedicated volunteers. NOK100 buys you a 50min walk around town with informative commentary on many of the art nouveax buildings.

When visiting, be sure to take a walking town with a guide and be sure to get a local for all the interesting stuff. (Note: some tours are guided by college students from other countries). We walked for several hours taking in the sights with...More

I would recommend to be curious and sportive, when you get to this city. It is comfortable for walking, nice and rather small city (downtown). Ålesund center has quite narrow streets, no one transport can not go to the beautiful pedestrian street Kongensgata, where you...More
