Lots of stairs to reach your destination, but worth every aching knee and foot! The views just make you want to snap a thousand pictures at once. Best to do this on a clear day for the best views!

OK, there are 418 steps, but it is easy enough with plenty of spots to stop along the way. When I was there it was crowdedness with three cruise ships in port but people moved quite well. Superb view from the top, right out to...More

The view is stunning, but the infrastructure to provide such beautiful trails really demonstrates great planning and encouraging a healthy lifestyle.

Other than the sheer volume of other people attempting this hike, it was great. Lots of places to stop and rest and views. Not just as the top! At the bottom is a small verdant park. I used the parking house nearby and walked over...More

You will be rewarded with fantastic view of the city when you reach the top. Hiking is not the only way to get there. If you are not able to climb all those steps, there are multiple buses or taxis can take you there right...More

The view from the top, and along the path on the way to the top is stunning. No wonder this town was once called the most beautiful town in Norway. You have to get up here to understand that.

I had a few hours to kill and walked from behind the hotel (Scandic Parken) up Aksla mountain. It was a short walk on a well prepared set of stairs. I had worked up a bit of a sweat by the time I reached the...More
