"WHO WE ARE AND WHAT YOU CAN EXPERIENCE..." AN EXPERIENCE THAT GUARANTEES A DESIRE TO LEARN! Male penguins sometimes adopt eggs and become the world's best "mothers", some turtles can breathe through their backsides, the plastic we throw away every year creates a sheet in the ocean as big as some countries, and spiders use hydraulics to move: after a visit to the aquarium, you'll definitely know something you didn't beforehand. And you'll know it with your entire body - not just your head. At Bergen Aquarium, children and adults alike can see, touch, read about and follow the animals and aquarium keepers at close range. You can watch shows and feedings, and see how fish and animals act when in their element. Bergen Aquarium has been a must-see institution for visitors and residents alike since 1960. It's situated a short way from the centre of Bergen, in a fantastic parkside location with a view out over the seaward approach to Bergen from all sides. There's good food, too: Biologen Akvariet is a brasserie offering proper food made with proper ingredients. It'll give you energy for the whole visit, and then some.

As tourists, we enjoyed looking around this aquarium. It was great to watch the sealions swimming around and a shame we couldn't stay long enough to watch their show. We also enjoyed seeing the penguins, fish crocodiles and tortoise. It would have been better if...More

Look, I like an aquarium. I’ve been to several around the world. This one was by far the worst. I can’t say that’s necessarily because of the exhibits (they have a really good one on the perils of water pollution). It’s because of the price....More

Hello! Thank you for your feedback. Bergen Aquarium is a foundation, so we "live" by our ticket income. It cost very much to drift the Aquarium in a year in animal food, medicine, electricity and much more. So the ticket price is calculated so we...More

The only nice attraction of this aquarium is the bunch of cute penguins right at the entrance on the right. Then, nothing else. It is more a reptilarium than an aquarium! Do not spend almost 30 euros to go there...

I’ve been to a lot of aquariums, but never one where the penguins are in an outside exhibit! This was so cool! My kids sat and watched the penguins for an hour. The trainers were very knowledgeable!

I went as a solo traveler and still enjoyed my fairly quick visit. The penguins are outside and you can get pretty close to them so I really enjoyed this. They and the sea lions (also outside) seemed really happy. Great displays inside. Overall a...More

It’s in the city centre. There is so much to see and learn. Penguin feeding time is great and very informative. They have snakes and crocodiles too. The gift shop is full of everything you could possibly want. There is a café.

Akvariet is included during the wintertime as a free entry place with the Bergen card, is not too big, but has a big variaty of animals. The greatest experience was the sealion show both of the sealions are amazing.

Plenty of exhibits where the marine life has been sympathetically contained. We chose a weekday which was quiet thereby contributing to the tranquil and serene experience. We used the Bergen Pass so admission was free at this time of year.
