The museum is relatively on the smaller side comparing to some major other European art museums but it has a superb collection of Norwegian artists, some other celebrated big names but mostly the work of Edvard Munch including his celebrated work “Scream”. Loved it! We...More

Tickets are valid even for the architectural museum for 50NOK. Pretty worth the money spent to visit 2 museums at this price. Time spent here was about an hour for us to hide from the rain. Quite worth the time roaming around here.

Entering the former bank building, built in 1901-06 to designs of Ingvar O. Hjorth, is a strange sensation. One minute there is light, the next it has faded into darkness - and so it goes on over and over again. This is very odd in...More

The ground floor was closed when we visited, we knew that the visiting exhibition was photography but had checked that there was some of the permanaent exhibition on display upstairs. That turned out to be pretty much all photography too. With the notable exception of...More

I have visited the museum several times, but it was only the present Exhibition of Sidsel Paaske which I found impressive. I learned so much more about her than I knew before, and I found her jewellery pieces were great! I also found the museum...More

As I am not the art person it was for me okay to see the pictures, paintings and similar things. It is a nice museum with some limited exhibitions in addition.
