The Oslo fjord is 100 km long. There are many activities on its shores and it is a "juvel" of the region. It is possible to take a boat tour of more or less 2 hours, in order to contemplate the beauty of the place. Impermeable!

We first did one of the cruises - 90 minutes, lovely, but just as we got out to the islands, it turned around. Pricey -$40 usd but cozy and nice beverage options on board.

I also took the ferry over to “museum island” and that was a lovely experience. It does NOT take the Reuters app though.

Finally, took the B1 ferry across from the Nobel Museum - best one of all! Uses the Reuters app and so for the price of one public transport ticket you get an hour cruise to see the different islands. I’d go around again if I’d had time!

The Oslofjord is very beautiful and well worth visiting. The most convenient way is to use the ferries that depart from Aker Brygge for the cost of a ticket or included in the Oslo Pass, you can get around all the islands, get off where you want and then get back on. Another trip, always by ferry from Aker Brygge, is to go to Drobak sailing an hour and a half in the fjord (you can return to Oslo by bus).

Some friends invited me to take a trip on a boat to see the Oslofjord, I decided to join them, we spent the whole day admiring the fjord, the experience was absolutely positive. Evoked a sense of freedom. Norwegians are very funny and open-minded, it's a great country. I'll definitely come back.

Our cruise ship was docked in the fjord for 2 days. We did a one and a half hour electric cruise around the fjords in Oslo. It was very quiet but also extremely slow which was a bit frustrating. And the other people on the cruise were very noisy so it took away from the beautiful views. watching fjords for the two days, show that this area is vibrant and extremely busy in the harbour area. There are massive fairies going to other countries and smaller fairies going to the small islands it’s very interesting to watch

5 amazing days! plenty of beautiful scenery to admire. One of the most popular places to view the fjord is by climbing to the top of the opera house.Traditional Norwegian arts and crafts, including textile work, woodworking, and metalworking. The best way to experience Oslo Fjord is by taking a boat tour.

A brief discovery of the fjord can be made in a cruise of about two hours, departing from Radhusplassen pier. Or, a cheaper option, taking the B1 waterbus line, which sweeps between the fjord islands, and is included in the Oslo pass. The scenery is very beautiful. Be careful, it can be quite cold, despite the sun.

We were in Oslo for a January weekend and this was a great way to sail around. The public transport boat line B1 leaves every hour from Anker Brygge and is included in the dayly/weekly transport pass. You can hop on and off to explore the islands or take a coffe/tea and snack in advance and enjoy a round tour for 1h. It is nice and warm inside the boat, but you can also climb up the open deck to catch a photo and enjoy the scenary.

Lots of interesting sites to see going in and out of Oslo fjord. As you approach the city you can see the famous ski jump Holmenkollbaken to the left in the mid distance. Places like the City hall and all major tourist destinations are easily accessible from the main waterfront.

Interesting architecture can be seen in and near the water.

Fred Olsen Jnr's house is on the left as you leave Oslo - see picture attached.

We bought the 24 hour transport pass from Ruter which includes the ferries. We set off on the B1 ferry and did most of the 1 hour round trip around the islands before getting off at Hovedoya for a stroll and a swim (the ferry stops at Hovedoya twice, once on the way out after only 6 minutes, and again on the way back). We were able to use our ticket again the next day for another boat trip around the islands.
