This is Norway’s largest public collection of art. Here you’ll find originals by Van Gogh, Monet, Mamet, Goya, Greo, Picasso, as well as other great art by lesser-known artists. It’s also the home of one version of Edvard Munch’s famous painting, “The Scream.” When I...More

You can see pictures of scadinavian painters, and also some pictures of French artissts like Cesan. But the most interesting paintings are the best of Munch such as the ''scream''. Μπορείτε να δείτε πίνακες σκαδιναυβών ζωγράφων, αλλά και Γάλλων, όπως Σεζάν. Γκωγκέν, Βαν γκογκ.Εδώ βρίσκονται...More

I found this art museum easy to negotiate. The paintings are beautifully displayed. I typically reach my saturation point with looking at art after about 2 hours and could see the entire museum within that time. Well worth a visit.

As the National Museum of Norway, it is not too big a size, and you can comfortably absorb it in one afternoon. There's plenty to see, and they actually suggested you to slow down as there was a room with a bronze sculpture, you were...More

Next time I’d have an Oslo pass to avoid the queues which are ridiculous because there’s only one person selling tickets! Probably the most popular attraction in Oslo with one person selling tickets. That said - good art, well laid out, plenty of seating and...More

The permanent exhibition was stuctured chronologically with emphasis on Norwegian artists and Norwegian scene. Along the suggested walking guideline, there were several interactive videos and art practices. We spent around 3 hours enjoying the paintings as well as other art pieces. I had been to...More

The museum is relatively small in size as all of the artwork in located on a single level with 30 or so connecting gallery rooms. We went to see the Munch, but were pleasantly surprised to see so much more that we loved. The Dahl...More

Hi. My wife and I got the city hop-on/hop-off cruise. I agree that it isn't a short walk in the heat, but certainly achievable. However, the bus is a better option, just not a direct one out. It is direct on the way back.
