It is well worth the effort in taking the bus to the Kahlenberg. The city views are excellent and, given its importance to the existence of Western Europe, it is someone everyone should go.

You can also go hiking in Vienna. A few minutes by tram to the mountain. Beautiful panorama, vineyards, walking trails. It is also worth visiting after the bustling city center.

Hiking the Kalenberg is hard work, but breathtaking. Stopping at small wine huts is part of the experience. Check opening hours and days if you are looking for a specific Heurigen. Only drawback for the woods is lack of signage which can cause some wrong...More

Take bus 38A from Grinzing or you can walk up (about 4 kilometres) through charming vineyards and forests, but it is a work-out. At the site, you can sit under an umbrella at the simple cafe, or go for the big-time restaurant in the hotel....More

Super crowed! You might have a nice view but you certainly need queue quite a bit to get a slight glance of it. Nothing much to see apart from this unattainable view. Not worth the 30 minutes bus ride

In my opinion, the best view of Vienna! Definitely worth visiting and having a glass of wine enjoying the view. Also, there is a nice track for wandering down the hill.

Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most
romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its
many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby
Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls
through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of
a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are
Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns,
and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill –

No issue if you go by bus up to the hill. If you go by D Tram to the foot of the hill in Nussdorf, I recommend a stroller for the almost 300 highmeter up.

Yes and yes Angela, there are paths that interlink with the road on which the bus runs, so you could walk part of the way and ride if the rest if you want. It's wise to ride up, it's long way down to Grinzing again where you... More
