It was an okay experience but the signs were only written in German so we didn’t really understand any of information. Also, it was quite small. If the signs were written in English too, it would have been more learning and interesting.

The entrance to this was part of our "Winter pass" ticket so we did it as part of our zoo visit. I wouldn't say it is worth visiting on its own, but was as part of the other activity. The plants we had expected to...More

Compared with the Zoo (or a Palm house) Desert House looks very modest inside. Those who are looking for an entertaiment would be disappointed. Otherwise, for science lovers or those interested in plants and life in deserts it's a good place to visit.

The Desert House is included in the Vienna Pass, so on our day at Schonbrunn we did it (along with the Palace tour, Palm House, Privy Garden, Orangerie, Gloriette, and Zoo). I found this by far the least interesting. It has several animal exhibits, but...More

I preferred visiting desert house to the palm house. In this building you will find plants, insects, reptiles from driest regions. A small tank with “doctor fish” are at the entrance allowing you to plunge your hands for a quick experience of a fish Spa...More

Its ok to visit if you have the Vienna pass like we had, but I wouldn't pay for a ticket. Animals are pretty good and the surroundings are kept clean, but it didn't wow me like the zoo did. I also think its cheeky you...More

A nice place. I liked the way that it represents the live of the desert. There are some animals and a lot of plants.
