when visiting the Church and cemetery of St. Peter make sure to stop by and treat yourself with some fresh handmade bread or brioche - the bakery is not open all the time, but you will smell it if they are :-)

It was a pleasure to buy from here the sourdough bread that tasted delicious. Suffused with history, utilising techniques continuous for hundreds of years, it was a great experience. The powerful water mill wheel was operating at full tilt courtesy of the immense flow of...More

Unfortunately, the bakery was closed when we stopped by (Wednesday afternoon). The waterwheel is easy to miss, in a small alley off of Kapitelplatz, but it’s worth stopping by. The wheel brought water to Salzburg from the Alps in the 12th century and similar waterwheels...More

This is a great place to get the most freshly made bread. The rye is most popular but we very much preferred the sweet white. Not a place to sit but perfect for grabbing a piece and continuing on your wall through the monastery.

Visited the bakery during a day tour of Salzburg. According to the tour guide this is the oldest bakery in Salzburg. The sweet warm bread was fantastic. Simplicity at its best. Will visit again.

My family and I were just wandering around town, and came upon this little basement bakery. We could smell the bread, and people were coming and going. We popped in and bought a couple of rolls that turned out to be crazy good. They were...More

This is one of the best places I have ever been to. The bread is so light and fluffy. The flavor is just right, not to sweet not to dry. They make the bread in a traditional fire oven. If you have the time go...More

This bakery is the oldest one in the city of Salzburg, and is definitely worth a visit. It is a traditional bakery in the city, and is a place that is very popular with locals. When you go inside, there are options of breads and...More
