We just happened upon it while walking. We did use it as a landmark on our many walks around town. Whenever we passed by the sculpture, we always slowed down.

The Horse Well is located right after the tunnel entering Olde Town. The murals are beautiful and highly detailed. Great phot opp. It only takes a few minutes to see this landmark but well worth the time.

Impressive statue and murals but once you’ve seen that’s about it. Pretty central so easy to find but only takes five minutes to take in

This is one of the landmark of Salzburg. Close to Linzergasse street and Sound of Music museum shop. Unfortunately the location is right on roadside so it wasn’t easy to take good picture and too noisy as well because a lot of vehicles.

A nice thing to see as you walk by it in the old City. Not worth going to for a specific visit... but nice if you're walking by.

This is yet another of the seemingly endless spectacular and beautiful fountains in Salzburg. We enjoyed every one of them. Coming from our world where there's a constant debate over what constitutes "urban art," I'm going to say that that the artists of the baroque...More

Another “Sound of Music” site, this was the horse trough for the prince-archbishops’ stables. Very cool to see at the base of a sheer cliff.

Yes it's a beautiful piece of sculpture each horse is different. Only a short walk over the bridge to the market place. Also real horse and carriages not far away.
