The best view of the city of Salzburg. Lovely Museum and Artifacts inside. Worth every penny! Make sure to take the Incline Car as the walk up is quite long and steep. Needs better map with more details.
I visited the Festung and stayed inside it's sturdy walls for 3/4 hours on my recent trip through Salzburg. I love this sort of thing and was generally just impressed by this brilliant structure. The streets inside the walls are quite steep so hiking shoes or...More

Despite the interesting architecture and...More

I don't think admission is free before 10:00 am. Admission for the all inclusive ticket is reduced if you purchase before 10:00. However, if you purchase online, the all inclusive ticket is not as expensive. As well, if you purchase online, the ticket is good for the one day. All inclusive ticket gives you access to the fortress and a return ride on the funicular.
