Lots of restoration work done following damage during WWII. Don't miss the opportunity to go inside and spend some time appreciating.

While the outside looks insignificant when you step through the door the roof artwork and religious artifacts put this small church in a class of it's own and with the door open you know you and your donation to restoration are welcome.

The first building to have been constructed in Valletta on the instruction of Grand Master Jean de Vallette. The most beautiful marbles, and stunning original painted ceiling. Such friendly attendants too, with an obvious love of the place. Beautiful sense of peace, holiness and history.

This beautifully conserved church is well worth a visit if you’re in Malta. A small chapel, it was the first building and church in Valletta built by La Valette to commemorate Our Lady’s guidance during the Great Siege. A great informative film gives an overview...More

Beautiful day and night. Shown round by a local gentleman who has always attended the church and even assisted with the decoration of the dome many years prior. Small version of St John’s Cathedral in Valletta.

If you are lucky to come upon this church when it is open, do go in. The ceilings are beautifully painted and it is one of the first churches built in Valletta.

I always find it fascinating to walk into a church, or indeed any building, and sense from the plaques or engravings that there is a story to tell. This church was no different, it was the first church and building to be completed in Valletta...More

It is not upto the size. This elegant small church presents beautiful wallpaints with breathtaking dome. Right next to Barakka Gardens in the heart of Valleta.

We were advised that this was the oldest church in Malta and was dedicated to the Virgin Mary by Valette in gratitude for a victory in battle. Extremely nicely decorated and not as exotically presented as other churches but delightful in it's relative simplicity.
