We were advised that this was the oldest church in Malta and was dedicated to the Virgin Mary by Valette in gratitude for a victory in battle. Extremely nicely decorated and not as exotically presented as other churches but delightful in it's relative simplicity.

Malta has some quite pretty little churches and this is one of them. It's not big, nor massively ornate, but it well worth just stepping inside from the street and taking a little look around. I think it's one of the oldest in the city.

This was a brief stop on our walking tour - the church celebrates the victories of surviving the Ottoman and WWII sieges. It is free to visit and beautiful inside.
