I am absolutely delighted to be able to write a review of my experience on the Cutty Jean, with Captain Jens and his delightful partner, who were easily the most amiable, charming and accommodating people I've met whilst staying in Malta! I was greeted with a big smile and a genuine handshake, and was made to feel extremely welcome within seconds of boarding. I have wanted to try water jet packing for ages, and was naturally a little nervous before my first attempt. But Jens was very helpful and supportive and it didn't take long for me to get a handle on it. Afterwards, we enjoyed a home made cocktail on the boat, as I chatted to fellow guests on the boat.
All in all, it was the best Sunday experience I've had in Malta, and I was blown away by the boat and crew. I can't recommend the Cutty Jean experience enough- just find her, and ask to come aboard; you certainly won't regret it! Thanks guys! We will return...!

Jetfly what a experience I had, it is one of those things that gets your heart pumping and brings excitement to another level. The couple that run the jetfly are soo humble and sincere. There isint something they wouldn't do for you to help you.
The jetfly is located on a boat in Sliema in Malta.

I loved my first ride with Jetfly. It's much harder than it looks from the outside, but the instructor is very professional and gets you going in no time. I've done helicopter flights in the open side door, jetski, desert quad and skidiving - but nothing beats this.
Well worth the very reasonable price - don't think twice if you're in the area.

An incredible way to enjoy an overcast afternoon in Malta. With a GoPro fixed on my face, to look back was a joyous ear to ear smile, and a screwed up face while trying to pick myself up from underwater.
Worth every cent.
Thank you guys!

When I was a kid, we were all assured we'd be flying about with our personal jet-packs in the 21st century. Well it didn't happen, and I'm still trying to get over the disappointment... But if you're in Malta this summer, you can savour a few minutes of aerial freedom courtesy of water-jet technology and intrepid German sailor/sportsman/superhero Jens Wermter. The Jetfly operation is based on his boat MS Cutty Jean, moored on Sliema waterfront when we visited Malta in May. The boat is an excellent floating b&b, too, as well as Jens' and partner Alexa's 'rolling home'.
The experience is out of this world, the technology well proven (thrust and lift are provided by high-pressure water jets and you soar to about 30 feet/10 metres) and Jens' expertise and patient instruction are reassuring even for complete beginners. If you don't trust yourself, you can fly tandem - so even kids can enjoy the amazing sensation of blasting off the launch pad and soaring high above the sea. And he told us people in their sixties have enjoyed Jetfly, too!
After full instruction and safety briefing, it's on with the jet-pack and on to the launch platform. Jens pumps up the pressure, balances the thrust with his remote control unit, and you're up, up and away...
As well as exciting one-to-one sessions, Jetfly offers group events. We were surprised how affordable it was, too, having seen similar experiences advertised at twice the price in Majorca and the USA.
If you're into extreme sports, water sports, diving, sky-diving, ski-ing, jet-ski and the like, you've just got to add Jetfly to your Mediterranean bucket list - it's simply awesome, and your friends will be jet-pack-jealous when they see the free Go-Pro video that's part of this brilliant package.

There I was minding my own business having a drink looking out over Marsalforn Bay, Gozo when this lovely old trawler moored on a buoy. Looked it up on the internet and realised they do jet flying.
Cheaper than offers in the UK, based on a converted vintage trawler, with lovely people, fantastic.
I'd swum out to the boat but didn't want to swim back so they sorted a boat to come for me. I was afraid of possible jellyfish, they loaned me a wetsuit, I tried to fly myself but when I couldn't, they flew me tandem. No rush and lots of work to get the equipment out just for me with no complaint.
In short, nothing was too much trouble, they were determined to ensure I got to have a great experience. And indeed I did. I've done parasailing, jet skiing, skydiving, and this is right up there. Highly recommended and fantastic fun with lovely people aboard the Cutty Jean. Next time I'll take a cabin and sleep over too!
Definitely worth looking up if you're heading to Malta or Gozo.

The reviews speak for themselves. Totally awesome experience. Took a few goes to get out of the water but once up in the air it's a totally buzzing experience. Aching arms afterwards but I think that's just first time nerves and gripping onto the controls too tightly. Highly recommended if you're ever in Malta

I was EXTREMELY skeptical when my boyfriend mentioned he wanted to try Jetfly, and I could not have had my assumptions changed more, it was an amazing experience! The owner was friendly and knowledgeable. He really took the time to explain everything and chatted with us before and after. My boyfriend had an amazing time and the jetpack really worked the way it looks in all the pictures - he was flying around the harbor for 20 minutes! It was an unforgettable experience that we highly recommend to any travelers to Malta. Also, for anyone with safety concerns (I certainly had them before we went), the owner is in charge the entire time, the jetpacker is on open, uncrowded water, and everything in the jetpack floats in addition to the life vest and helmet. It was very safe.

I went to Malta for my sister's birthday and to visit our Dad, my Dad told me about Jetfly and I thought it would be an amazing surprise for my sister's birthday. It was a challenge on the first go, but by the 2nd attempt, I was up in the air flying above the sea looking at the amazing views across Valetta. My sister picked it up first go and was brilliant at it! She enjoyed this very much. The instructor was brilliant, explained clearly how to do it and was lovely. Such an amazing experience, would definitely recommend.

What age do you need to be to 'go solo' on this attraction? I have two kids aged 13 and 15 - would they require to do this with the instructor or could they have a go on their own?
Written September 5, 2015
Hi, the youngest solo pilot was 11 years old, young Walter. Sure, your children can try it on their own. However, parental presence is required in all flight sessions taken by underage individuals.
Hope the answer was helpful!
Sunny greetings,

What is a typical price to Jetfly please?
Written April 13, 2015
Hi Hilly,
It depends on the ride. Individual intro flight: 80 EUR. Joyride tandem flight with our instructor: 70 EUR. We offer a discount for group bookings. For example, if you bring a friend along, you´ll pay just 60 EUR for a joyride.
Hope this helped. You are also welcome to visit our website jetfly.me
