Did a walking tour of Valletta with Mortours and Moses was our guide. It was brilliant. He is very knowledgeable. Had constructed a route that enabled him to tell the story of Valletta and show us the significant sites. He also made great recommendations for food and restaurants. This set us up perfectly for the rest of our visit to Valletta- definitely 5 star experience.

We had a brilliant time touring Valletta with Moses. He's a charming, vibrant, kind guide, with tremendous knowledge of and love for the city, the country, and her people. His gastronomy tips have been very helpful, and his patience with my endless questions I deeply appreciated. Most impressive -- even though ours was a group tour, only my husband and I showed up and he spent a generous 2 hours with us anyway, also offering to help with any questions we might have during our stay. Such beautiful hospitality. We highly recommend Mortours!!

In February I booked a tour of Mdina through Airbnb Experiences with Moises (who works for or runs this company because this is tour company he kept referring to in our communications) for March. Payment was processed through Airbnb at time of booking. The tour was to take place at 4pm.
Exactly 24 hours before the tour I received an email confirmation from Airbnb that the 4pm tour was confirmed. The following day I received an email from Moises that, because I booked the tour last minute, he could not make that time. While he did offer to push the tour to 6pm with another guide, we had another activity scheduled and could not make the 6pm time.
I was able to get a full refund from Airbnb.
Here's where I had the issue - I booked the tour on Feb 14th. Moises said that I booked the tour last minute, then changed his story to Airbnb had notified him last minute of the tour. I've done many Airbnb Experiences in the past and, while that might have happened, I doubt his story. He also said the amount I had paid when I told him that I was showing a charge on Feb 14th for the booking was that the amount I paid was not correct to what the tour cost. When Airbnb sent the refund confirmation, I was the exact amount I quoted Moises that had been deducted from my account on Feb 14th. Also, the tour was the exact one he had advertised. I was fully able to back up that I did not book the tour last minute as claimed.
I'm sure he's a really excellent tour guide and is very knowledge with his information. However, I question his business sense. I suspect he listed tours on Airbnb and was not keeping track of bookings and when he got the email reminder from Airbnb about my tour, he tried to blame me for booking last minute rather than just admitting that he made a mistake.
I also have a hard time believing that Airbnb didn't notify him at time I booked the tour on Feb 14th and the only notification he received was the day of the tour. That doesn't sound right.
With this one, book at your own risk, but I wouldn't recommend this company.

I found the free Walking Tour: Valletta The Capital of Culture Valletta by Mortour via Freetour.com. I was pretty excited since I found the tour last minute at a time when many tour companies seem to be on Christmas/New Year break. Unfortunately, it was a rather disappointing experience overall. Thought the guide was nice, she seemed really surprised and overwhelmed by the amount of people who showed up. Also there was a little confusion over the English vs Spanish tour - the Spanish guide was late/didn’t show up so everyone joined the English tour instead? Anyway, we stopped at the city wall for the first stop and it took us a minute before we realized the guide already started her narrative. We stood behind 2 rows of people (maybe 6 feet away) and could not hear a single thing she was saying. Her voice was so soft that she was basically just talking to the couple right in front of her. Everybody around us struggled just like us to hear a word. Having done free walking tours all around the world, this is the first time that I’ve been disappointed by the experience. We basically gave up after 2 mins and left the tour.

Dear tourist.
As you said our guide is awesome but as a free tour, you can expect a big group especially during those dates and festivities.
In this case, it is a free tour NOT A PRIVATE TOUR, so it depends on your interest and enthusiast about the tour but if you give up in just 2 min you don´t give the opportunity to your self to enjoy the whole tour.

Moises was a great tour guide in Valletta. He was very well prepared and shared a lot of stories and historical facts with us.
My trip to Malta was a last minute decision and I had done no research whatsoever. The tour made me realize how complex and interesting this island is.
We got very good restaurant and bars recommendations, also in other places in Malta. Moises was very open and willing to help during the whole of our stay.
Highly recommend!
