So it's a church. It is not meant to be a tourist attraction. It is just a functional Lutheran church with a congregation. It's worth a look if you are in town, but unless you are deeply fascinated by architectural styles, it's not worth a...More

Very modern chuch, a true highlight of Stykkishólmur. Situated on top of a hill, it has the perfect setting and can be seen throughout the town. Definitely worth looking inside and taking a few pictures. I stayed at the Fosshotel, right next to the church,...More

We wanted to go into this Lutheran Church but it was closed. We were told if there is a car in the parking lot then the church is open. Built in the 1960's it is quite unique on the outaide.

I love this little town/village in Iceland. There is so much to do, from whale watching to walking around town. There is a nice shop with lots of woven items, made locally.

We were curious about this church that we could see from our hotel room so we went inside on our way out of town. I loved the charming lighting and the beautiful painting of the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus. It is definitely worth a...More

Modern day church which lacked any character, Set on the hill overlooking a lovely bay but for me this was the only redeeming feature. Filled in some time waiting for the ferry.

Drive up here and look at the church - it is not usually open - which is very unusual. Then admire the view of the town and the fjord. Well worth a quick stop.

This church is a must for visitors-so simple, so serene, so beautiful. It is situated on a high point at Stykkishhelmur and the design is a perfect fit with the geography.
