My hubby & I booked to do a photo shoot at MINK after our 6hr day tour. The studio was easy to find with the directions they provided. Loved the ease with which we were able to switch into Viking mode. A very engaging time with our photographer who explained about Viking history as he prepared us for our photo shoot. The whole experience only lasted about 1hr. It was very difficult to decide on only 12 photos. Absolutely recommend the experience.

We were on our first visit to this beautiful island, when my husband saw Mink Viking Portraits on-line and was instantly captivated … it was PERFECT for him! Booking on line was straightforward, and (luckily) we managed to get an appointment. Gudmann was an absolute delight to meet and his knowledge of Norse & Vikings lives, history and culture was just encyclopaedic! Conversation flowed as he picked out clothing, accessories and weapons for Barry to wear. The photos exceeding our wildest expectations!! … they are absolutely incredible!! Thank you so much Gudmann … an amazing finale to our holiday!

What an awesome experience. Gudmann is extremely knowledgeable and keeps the Viking photo shoot as authentic as he can. He explained the positioning to hold bow n arrow etc and rationale behind it (to be in keeping with how true Vikings would sim and protect themselves etc). I loved hearing his stories. I could have happily sat and talked to him all day. A true gentleman who tells me I look beautiful even though I know I’m not heh 🫣 but I appreciate his efforts to make one feel good about oneself despite aging disgracefully. Heh. Looking more like a burnt out shield maiden rather then a strong one haha. Photos don’t lie haha…I would return to Iceland just to attend again (to try the regal look)... You’re a true legend. I’m so grateful I got an appointment at short notice!

Prior to my Iceland vacation I came across this place online as one of the things to do in Reykjavík. I expected to come to a place with some nice costumes and get a few photos. This place was much more than that. These were not just “costumes.” All the clothing, armor and weapons were authentically made. My wife and I had Gudmann as our photographer. He was amazing. This was more than just photographs. Gudmann talked to us the entire time about Viking culture and history as well as how weapons/armor were made and used. This was like an hour-long history lesson with some amazing photos to go along with it. Honestly, I would come here again just to talk to Gudmann about Vikings and not even worry about pictures. However, the pictures were also amazing! If you want great pictures dressed like a Viking, this is the place for you. If you like the Viking culture and its history, AND want some great pictures, then this place is a mandatory stop in Reykjavik.

Guðmann is a wealth of knowledge and goes above and beyond in tailoring experience for all family members the authentic props, weapons and clothes customised with skins, broaches and furs add an additional level to what you would expect. Needless to say the photos are all top class and worth every cent.

I'm happy with the photos and the staff was very knowledge of the history of both the Icelandic and Viking people history. Speaking with the photographer, he guided me in get to best look that was right for me. I wanted a chance to dress up and feel the experience of being Viking. I highly recommend visiting the Mink Viking Portrait Studio if you are Reykjavik. The only reason I give 5 stars is because it is the highest listed but the star level doesn't equate the service and experience provided.

This was my second trip to Mink. I was there with friends in 2017, and went with my sister on this visit. We had an amazing time both visits. Gudmann was very knowledgeable and so kind. He created such amazing pictures where we truly looked like Vikings! Even though I have had these pictures made during my two visits to Iceland, I will have them done again every time I visit. Truly an amazing and unforgettable experience!!! I would recommend this to everyone!

A MUST do experience when visiting Reykjavik! It’s right downtown and easy to walk to from many hotels (centrally located. While my boyfriend and I picked out what to wear for the shoot, we got to chat with the photographer and learn some fun facts and history! Gudmundr our photographer was wonderful! Great photographer, learned a lot about Icelandic and Viking history and had great conversation. I HIGHLY recommend Mink Viking Portrait Studios.

travelled to Reykjavik with my family early December 2023 and tried to book in with Mink but was unable to due to other trips booked beforehand , i was fortunate to travel again in Feb 24 with my son aged ten , all i can say is what an amazing experience we ha with Gudmanthor the photographer. not only did we get some amazing photos but we also got a running history lesson whilst getting photographed. well worth the money and time thank you so much Mink im sure we will be back again soon
