About
Spilavinir is a wonderful, family-friendly board game store. The staff consists entirely of people who love to play board games and are happy to assist you in finding your next favourite board game. Inside the store is Spilakaffi, a boardgame café, where you can sit down and pick a boardgame from their massive collection. Downstairs is a small play-store for young children, and a large game room, party divided into small cozy "living rooms".

I'm so happy I stumbled upon this charming board game cafe! The people there showed us a new game and there was even vegan chocolate cake on the menu. Overall the staff were very friendly and I had a good time. Would recommend any board game enthusiast or beginner to stop by and check out their wine and beer selection too :)

This shop is one of the jewels of Reykjavík. Full of all kinds of games yet very and organized. The staff are very knowledgable and enthusiastic. If you care to have a sip of your favourite drink you can do that too while checking out some of the items for sale. Truly wonderful.

This is a cute little board game/puzzle shop located in a little plaza. Ample parking in the plaza. Many games for adults and children, along with puzzles are for sale. You may also demo a lot of the games, and I noticed they also have a cooler with drinks for purchase. Staff were very friendly! Worth stopping in and looking around, great place to pick up a new game!

Thank you for your kind words. Since your visit we have opened a café inside the store, where you can purchase great chicken, grilled sandwiches, cold beer and magnificent tea (along with the expected coffee drinks and cakes).

A chance Google of boardgames in Reykjavik and we stumbled on this gem! I would wholeheartedly recommend to any boardgames whilst you are here. The owner was amazing and gave us a great recommendation of an Icelandic game to take home, and was super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about games. A treasure trove both to buy and play, plus if you have children there is a great play space they can have whilst you play (UK cafes please take note). It is out of the centre but we used the Hopp to get back and it was extra fun to our trip.

Love it here! So welcoming and comfortable to play and even just hang out drinking coffee or beer! The selection of games is great and there is always someone there to teach you new or old games... they even might play along if you need a partner! Thank you for opening! :)
