I highly recommend this amazing tour that covers all the best sites in Iceland in all of its beautiful, wintery glory. Its just the right length of time where we felt like we saw all the most important spots (and then some), but we didn’t feel rushed. Our tour was completely full but even so, it didn’t feel over crowded and the van was large enough to comfortably accommodate all of us and our luggage. The hotels that we stayed at were great! Mostly off the beaten path, charming and comfortable with private bathrooms, and really nice people. This tour was a great way to experience the ring road, and was cost effective and hassle free. If you’re lucky enough to get Rocky as your guide then you’ll be in for a real treat. He was a consummate professional while also consistently hilarious. He went above and beyond to make our experience the best it could possibly be with extra stops to some really cool spots that you won’t be able to find or access without an experienced Icelander, informative historical context and storytelling, lots of laughs, and customized playlists to keep things interesting. He worked really hard for us, hunting the northern lights every night, bringing us to the best viewing spots, and making sure we got to eat at the best restaurants too. Because of Iceland’s unpredictable winter weather, if any plans went sideways he was quick to move things around so that we didn’t miss out on anything and got to have the full experience despite any winter storms. Toward the end of the trip it felt like I was just hanging out with a good buddy who is much cooler and funnier than me. We’ll never forget our experience and can’t wait to come back to Iceland.

Julien was our guide to see the volcano erupting. Although we booked a group, we ended up being the only ones. I'm not in the best shape currently but he was sure to choose a place I could match. The hike up was a good one for a non-hiker. Although the new, fourth, trail is much calmer than the others, there is still areas that are long and steep. Julien made sure everyone was sure-footed and going at a speed we felt comfortable. The votes at the top were absolutely worth it, and Julien's knowledge about what was happening was an added bonus than having give to see the volcano without him. We watched the volcano erupt a few times as we say and ate our sandwiches (we brought, not provided). It was the most spectacular view I've had for dinner on awhile. Even on a warm day, make sure to bring hats and gloves as it is windy at the top. Listen to Julien when he says to experience the volcano erupting at least once without taking pictures. It's breathtaking!

This two day tour on the south coast is perfect for seeing the highlights of this part of Iceland. Every sight we visited was amazing! Since we were a small group, it was easy to indicate what we were all interested in and our guide was very flexible on making extra stops and spending more time in certain places. The best thing about the tour was the quality of service from our guide: Vala. She is very friendly and professional! She organised the two days perfectly always explaining lots of information about everything we saw, happy to answers our questions while making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. On the second day (which happened to be her birthday) she took us on a glacier hike, which was an unforgettable experience. We 100% recommend this tour!

Svein was our expert guide as we travelled around Iceland on an 8 day tour in December 2019. We visited a multitude of cities and locations, from Reykjavik, to Vik, Hofn, and Akureyri. The tour included glacier hiking, ice caves, volcanic caves, northern light hunting (which was successful due to Svein’s guidance), beautiful waterfalls, stunning beaches with ice caps, and delicious Icelandic food at local restaurants.

Svein’s guidance and professionalism was of the highest standard. Not only did he have extensive and detailed knowledge of Iceland, its history, and its culture, but his ability to navigate through significant snow storms in December was exceptional. We highly recommend Svein as a guide to reveal the unique beauty of Iceland.

OK, this would have been a three star review. It was a decent tour; bad weather made it problematic but that’s not the tour company’s fault, and the guide was a decent sort. The five hour tour went to 6 hours due to the guide making an extra stop, and the food and drink promised didn’t happen, but not terrible.

However, when my partner posted a review here, the guide spotted the review, acquired her email address, and emailed her a letter that was belligerent, hostile, accusatory, threatening, and demeaning. I was stunned by the unprofessionalism. We will NOT be using this company again and strongly recommend against touring with them - unless you enjoy getting nasty emails from workers who *should never have had access to customer emails in the first place*, of course.

Dear Tripadvisor user, I would normally not answer this but since the above information is very misleading. Here is the email sent from our guide, one of the kindest persons I know, sent to you after another review by your partner, now removed, was posted. Sent from guide: " Very disappointed about your review since everyone in the group understood that there wasn't much we could do with the weather and I tried the best I could to make it a pleasant experience. About timing and food, everything was said throughout the tour and I even recommended places where you would get food by the time we arrive. People going to 7hours tours starting at 5 o'clock should be prepared or know that things are closed at midnight, you definitely didn't think about that. Not our fault , sorry. " Everyone can now see it is not any of the above things mentioned in the review! Guides have access to emails for photos, pick ups and in general to make the experience a better one.

An amazing experience that many people will never get to see, to hike up an active volcano. We had a minor issue organising our pickup, but got it resolved eventually. The minibus picked us up along with around 15 others and we took the about 45 minute journey to the parking by Fagradalsfjall and the start of our hike.

The initial terrain was steep and I was a little concerned that my partner who'd recently had an operation would struggle, but the inclines and paths weren't as taxing as that initial climb and after a few hours it was more than worth it for the amazing views we got. To start with we saw the small crater in the distance and glimpses of the lava bubbling up. We walked past old flows and took souvenirs of the lava which in itself was amazing.

From there it just kept getting better the closer we got until at one point we were probably 20 metres or so above flowing lava as it worked its way down the sides, it really was something to behold. The weather conditions were as good as could be expected and on the way down the mist fell and visibility for people on their way up was terrible but I showed them the photos we took and they agreed it was still worth the journey up there.

Now the negative, our guide just didn't have any control over our group, just letting people go wherever and not keeping us together to the extent that we lost him completely before we got to the best viewing area and walked past many members of our group who had no idea where he was, which potentially could have been very dangerous.

Wrap up to the conditions, wear walking boots, take drink and appropriate food for hiking and it certainly helps being a decent level of fitness, take these into account and you will have an amazing experience.

Activity: 🚐 Minibus day tour from Reyjavik to the Snaefellsnes peninsula (end of July, 2021)
The tour was amazing and gave us 🗻 plenty of georgeous outlooks, interesting walkabouts and a bunch of amazing 📸 opportunities for fotographers.
Our tour guide, Michael, did an absolutely great job during this 10 hours trip. Michael drove us safely all the way and at the same time entertained us with sagas referring to this area of Iceland, shared his experiences with Iceland‘s food with us, showed us his favorite beach.
I had a great time with Trölls Tours and strongly recommend these guys and their beautiful Iceland 🇮🇸

This was the volcano tour. Unfortunately, the lava flow had recently stopped after months of oozing down the mountainside as many had seen on world news. Our guide and driver, most easily identified as Hawk (Icelandic names can be difficult) was up front with this when the last guests were picked up in Reykjavik. We had a good mix of European and American guests who chatted amiably for the 45 minute ride that took us towards the airport and past Blue Lagoon. It was a bit over an hour up to the optimal viewing point and you need to be in decent shape to do the hike. Great views along the way but you need to get up their to see the cone across the valley. Worth the journey. A food truck and restrooms at the bottom making for a pleasant evening. Back to the capitol region for a lite dinner before a well-earned rest.

What a fantastic tour my partner and I had with such an insightful and jolly tour guide, Michael.

From pick up to drop off the tour never let us down.

Kerið was a beautiful first stop, a large lake but now covered with snow because of the weather conditions but beautiful none the less.

We then headed to Gullfoss waterfall and what a sight it was, two 30m drops that thunder away whilst onlookers stood in awe.

A surprise on the tour was visiting some old Icelandic horses which was a real treat!

Now to the Geysir, a truly astounding spot a location sprawled with large pools that shoot up into the sky spewing hot thermal water. We then had lunch at the local stop off beside the Geysir site.

Our last stop of the day was the National Park where we enjoyed a lovely hike through the picturesque land. A true spectacle in itself.

A 5 star tour and well worth the price!

Thank you again to Michael, a credit to your employer!

the places we visited were extremely beautiful beyond words. our guide and driver, maria, was very lively and made the tour a great one! she played great music throughout the journey and told us lots about iceland and its history. she also brought us to a cheap place for lunch, where we got to meet some icelandic horses. the place is owned by a family who love and care for the horses deeply. overall, a great experience and highly recommended for first timers in iceland!
