Not as charming as the Tampere Tuomiokirkko, but it looks good on it's own way. The park is much better than with the other one thought.

This Evangelist-Lutheran church built in Gothic Revival style is located in the Finlayson industrial area. It was built in 1879 as the church of the Finlayson cotton factory, where the factory workers could practice religion.
The church has also served as the “Children’s Cathedral” since 1996. Because of its central location, small size, and pleasant architecture, the church is one of the most popular wedding churches in Tampere.
On our visit, the church was closed. So we couldn't see the interior.

We went to see the Finlayson area and a few hundred meters away we also fund the Finlayson church.
Just a small church buildt in red bricks build in 1879 after in 1846 the cotton mill had hired its own Preast. In 1981 the church was given to the parishis of Tampere by Finlayson OY but should keep the name Finlayson Church. The church was completed renovated in 2009.
We went inside in this nice church which since 1996 also serve as children church and children road church since 1998. In the vindows and below stories from the bibel are told with the help of puppets in landscapes. We were there on a sunny august morning and did listen to a small concert on piano and flute, very nice and relaxing. On the wall outside next to the entrance there are 3 plates with the names of the soldiers from Finlayson killed in the Finish wars 1939-1940 and 1941-1944.
A fine church to visit.

The church is not a must to see, but I stumbled upon it and had a look inside. It was really nice to see and together with the Dom church to me the best one in Tampere. I really liked the stained glass windows that made nice lighting in the church.

The church and the whole Finlayson area are worth a walk around. So much history! Nice architecture on this church.

My family and I walked by this church on Sunday. The doors were open and a gentlewoman in the doorway waved and welcomed us inside during the service. The sound and energy in the church was warm and happy. I enjoyed signing along with songs similar to what I sang growing up in a Protestant Congregationalist church in Massachusetts USA. My 4 year old son had too many wiggles to stay the e tire service. There is a park right next to the church for wiggle worms to enjoy.

Recommend if you have children to go here as there are dolls and scenes for them to enjoy. The church is simple in look and was built in the later 1800s and located in the Finlayson industrial area. The church has dolls depicting various Biblical events. We were very pleasantly surprised to see the scenes and dolls showing various stories from the Bible. Children are encouraged to play with some of the scenes at the back. There were two rocking horses also. There are benches on both sides and has a piano/organ. While we were there someone starting playing some nice music. Apparently, it is a popular place for weddings.

The appearance is red brick, much like most of the Finlayson factory buildings. Although quite plain it is pleasing to look at although nothing special inside. The church is keen to welcome children and there are displays and activities for children. It is well worth picking up the free leaflet which is available in several languages. There were young people playing music in the church when I visited, which is apparently quite common and adds to the visit. Call in if you are passing.

The Finlayson Church was built in 1871 for the workers of the Finlayson company, then on the rise as one of Scandinavia's biggest companies.
It is a red-brick building with the plain but sturdy look of a Finnish warehouse. Inside it has beautiful exposed timber beams which give it considerable rustic appeal, as if it were from a village rather than a large city. It is also noted for its frequent musical performances. It was filled by the sound of piano music when we visited. Overall, just worth a quick look for travellers.
