This is also a nice church to visit in Tampere. It inspires a clear, warm crurch, no decor almost inside, but very nice ceiling.

A large church build in red Bricks and some parts of the roof is copper, the first stone was placed on the 2 nd of march 1880 and as the Zar Alexander II had his jubile 25 years on the trone. The church got the name Alexander Church. The church was opened on the 27 november 1881. The church is 60 meter long and 57,5 meter high and seat for 1200 people. It was renovated in the years 1937-1938 and in 1980. It is open from 11-18 mon-fri and 11-15 sat-sun during summer. But due go inside it is large and very much space up t the seeling. It is a brigth and nice church to visit and sit down and let time fly.
Do visit.

I love organ music and when I entered this church the music filled the room. Beautiful and emotional. Grandiose from the outside and with central location worth a visit.

Opening hours Monday to Friday at 11 am to 6 pm, Saturdays according events and on Sundays from 9 am to 3 pm. Beautiful park area outside the church.

I would not say it is worth to go on purpose, but if you are on the way to the Lenin Museum, it is worth a short stop there.

This church is located near the Metso library. The church was built in 1880-1881 and it has a neo-Gothic style.

A ggod place to take time out from a busy day. It had the atmosphere of a church. Pick up the free information leaflet - I always find I get more out of visits from having some information aboout the background of the building. It's a Lutheran church so not ornate but attractively simple.

After walking for the better part of the morning, stumbling onto this find was a welcome reprieve from hustle of downtown Tampere. Although it is marked on one of the walking tours we did not purposefully head for this church. We are glad we did. The boys found the style interesting and the pipe organ quite impressive. Understated as most Lutheran Churches are, this one is a grand church but simple. We also enjoyed a history walk through the graveyard which is not large but has its own stories I am sure.

Plan for 30 minutes altogether.
