I have visited a number of churches and cathedrals in the past. This one took my breath away when I walked in. The outside is not so distinctive in the sense that it is built with stones and clean-lined. But once you are in, the...More

Tampereen Tuomionkirkko contains some very impreesive artwork. The most famous painting inside is the "wounded angel". The artwork around the perimeter of the cathedral caused quite a stir back in the day, as it was a series of some "anatomically correct" naked young boys. Nowadays,...More

We were unable to enter the Tampere Cathedral on the day we visited Tampere. The Cathedral was closed. I can not offer an opinion on the inside of the Cathedral. The building itself is beautiful. It’s very close to the main train station (5min. Walk)...More

The stone construction is amazing. Imagine the impact it would have had in its early history. Worth encircling to check all the details if closed.

Amazing, must see. A little bit hidden but with some help it is easy to find. It's like an oldfashioned-middle European castle... and inside. Unique. I loved the paintings. Worth it!

We have visited many cathedrals and this one had a very unique atmosphere - mainly due to the very unusual murals, paintings and stained glass windows. Would definitely recommend for a short visit.

Located very close to the center, maybe less than 10 minutes from the railway station. In front of it there is a lovely park with benches for you to sit on. Worth taking pictures from the outside but I did not find the interior very...More

And interesting interior which I can understand why it had a mixed reaction when it first opened. If you have the opportunity to attend a concert - particularly one which involves the organ - this is worth attending for a treat to the ears and...More

As far as I can remember it was 10.00 to 17.00 but ceremonies or services could mean that this is adapted. We went there in the early afternoon at around 13.00.
