The Mineral Museum is a permanent exhibition on Vapriikki’s ground floor. The 7000 objects of the exhibition have been collected from 70 countries.

You can also find here meteorites, dinosaur eggs, and plant and animal fossils.

A must go for all interested in stones and minerals! I enjoyed it greatly. Mineral museum takes only a part of the whole Vapriikki museum. It's not huge, but not super small either. The collection has some really nice specimens. Meteorites, fossils, huge fossilized tree trunks, huge amethyst geodes and much more. Many specimens are from Finland.

Yes, I apsolutely recomend to visit people to visit and see so many beautiful minerals and stones. This is the one of the interesting museums inside the big museum complex.
You can easilly spend 1/2 day in the museum, visiting all of the present exhibitions. There are also a museum shop and cafeteria / restaurant.

It was worthed my €10, I believe so. Frankly speaking I was quite stunning with their kivimuseo (rocks museum), well women and precious stones, either best friends or soulmates.

Another reason it was valuable for me, was because you got several museums at the same time. Didn't remember correctly the number of the museum, but in some exhibition they provide simulator in which children can play and try them selves.

The low light was there's less English version on the text. As a non-native speaker (with 0 capability actually), I was relying on my partner to do the translation for me. But we did enjoy gained more knowledge on the pieces of Tampere's history.

Just in front of the moomin museum, its worth to take a look if you have some spare time.
Well what you'll mainly see is minerals. Still, they are in a nice shape (mainly animals). Some of them are so lovely that you'll find yourself buying a copy at the shop at the end of the museum.
As far as i remember, must be very cheap (deal!)

This is another small museum now consolidated in Vapriikki. It's a small collection, but with great variety. There are extensive exhibits of geodes, jade, and agates. The exhibits are well-labeled.

The museum has moved into the Vapriikki museum complex in the historic industrial area a bit farther away from the very centre of the city, and is now in a much better and larger space (it's still within walking distance from the railway station and the main street). The vast collection of minerals from all over the world is now displayed much more to its advantage with better signage. I recommend visiting the other exhibitions and museums in the same building as well since they are all included in the 10 Euro entrance fee.

This museum has moved to Vapriikki, Alaverstaanraitti 5, 33101 Tampere, where it has more space for the vast collection or beautiful rocks, minerals and fossils. My daughter collects rocks and loves this museum. It is worth knowing that just one man collected it all and ended up donating this treasure to the city of Tampere.

Tampere Mineral Museum was relocated to a new location in 2015 (from Hämeenpuisto 20 to Alaverstaanraitti 5, Museum Centre Vapriikki). You can see very interesting minerals, gemstones, meteorites and fossils here. The 7000 objects of the exhibition have been collected from 70 countries. Even our children were very thrilled by these beautiful stones!
