The exhibition "From autonomy to Atalanta - an exhibition on Finnish military history" on the Military Museum's Manege presents the history of Finland's defence forces and Finnish soldiers as well as wars involving Finland from the 17th century to the present day. Closed during the winter. A new exhibition will open on 9 May 2018.

Unless you have the Helsinki card or a major war buff I wouldn’t tell people it’s a must see. Nonetheless the museum has interests artefacts covering 20th with artillery and uniforms. 10-15 minutes and you’ll be done.

You will get a nice historical overview. There is information for the common European languages. Was free with Helsinki Card!

Hello! Military Museum´s Manege at Suomenlinna sea fortress is open every day from 11 am to 6 pm. It is not closed on Mondays. The former main exhibition, "From Hakkapeliittas to Peacekeepers" at Liisankatu 1 in the centre of Helsinki is unfortunately closed, maybe forever....More
