was nice to go skiing but the accommodation there is a bit pricey, better stay in a hotel a short distance away, saves a bundle. But still very nice to go and ski and for some entertainment. I can recommend it.
My wife and I visited Ruka in January 2018 and after over ten years of visiting France, we think we have a new favourite! Great snowpark, conditions and cosy town. No queues on the lifts and incredible scenery

Lots of skiing on wide uncrowded pistes, good variety of pistes too

But as long as you have layers and there is no wind, you can do it without any discomfort. We really appreciated the lift with the cover (the bubble lift we called it) and the fire places that we set up at and around the ski lift bases
