Had some extra time and used our Finnish museum card for visiting this exhibition. Good variety of different exhibitions, art work was presented well and we thoroughly enjoyed about the exhibition as a whole. Can recommend this to tourists, if you have time.

Not many attractions in Rovaniemi, so we walked to Arktikum for a visit. The museum is smaller than expected and not much English descriptions (some of the exhibition we have to guess)...the exhibitions ranges from historic Finland, environment, wild life, aurora etc., some questions listed but without answers provided (so it maybe made for teachers showing the school children but... learn more about the Arctic life cycle and some history about Rovaniemi. Not bad to visit if you are free and have not much to do the day.

Good to see & take an idea about the arctic life concerning people & animals. Recommends more shops & late hour opening especially for the cafeteria since it is closed at 4 pm

A large, modern exhibition centre near the centre of Rovaniemi (I walked there from my riverfront hotel) with excellent displays and presentations on all aspects of Arctic life, animal, vegetable, mineral and human, historic and present day, as well as problems and he future. Highly recommended to spend at least several hours here. Don't bother booking a tour. Just front... More

We took our 7 and 15 year old here for a few hours and we all throughly enjoyed the exhibits there especially the interactive ones. We all learnt something we didn't know and we're fascinated by the aurara experience. There was also an interesting photography of moving light exhibition and Christmas market when we visited too.

The Sami exhibit was interesting but hardly needs 1/4 of an hour... The museum itself is set overlooking the river which is nice. Enjoyed the science / geography part most. I must be honest: incomparable to well known science museums I've been to around the world but whatever is there is done in a most intriguing manner. Loved the part... More

We were seeking information on the influence of the seasons on humans, animals and vegetation. Also the way the Aurora Borealis may affect. This could not be provided unfortunately. The coffeebar is satisfactory.
