Although not a large museum, the Arktikum contains ample to keep you occupied for a full half day. There are free lockers to deposit bags etc. and free parking onsite. The exhibits are very well presented, informative and involving - we learnt a lot as...More

The museum was full of interesting, inventive displays and our family of five adults all greatly enjoyed our visit. Some areas were definitely for children but there was still plenty to keep us occupied. A good mix of history, natural history and science.

Features historical and socio-political exhibits on the Arctic peoples and their heritage. Appears too dark in the exhibit halls. Certainly not your museum you can see in the major cities, but worth the visit. Stayed there for less than an hour.

Truth be told... I wasn't keen in spending time in Museums. But since I have one day free and it was a cold day, I wanted to maximize my time learning about Lapland. I was glad that I did and I was happy with what...More

The exhibitions were surprisingly poor compared to my expectations. They were locally themed though but somehow they didn't impress me. I mean it was ok but as a tourist city this museum deserves to be more imposing. The glass hall is nice.

Really interesting exhibits, spent 3hours and not enough time to see all that was there. 'Artic in Change', fascinating with interactive displays. 'Northern Ways', very informative, could have stayed much longer but had to leave to catch a bus to Inari.

A big museum with expositions about Lapland. From the definition of the arctic area through the nature to the culture in Lapland you can enjoy lots of information together with interactive exhibits. You should reserve over 2 hours for the visit.
