One of the smaller museums in Stockholm is the Strindberg museum, which is located at the far end of the shopping street Drottninggatan, and it is housed in the late laureate's apartment in a building from the early 1900. The museum begins with a tour...More

The Strindberg Museum presents the story about August Strindberg in a very interesting and easy understanding way. Strindbergs biography is presented very educationally and parallel to important historical events in Sweden and in the world. And there is indeed a lot to tell. Strinberg was...More

A very nice museum located in Strindberg's former apartment. Laminated placards in Swedish and English provide sufficient information to describe the author's belongings and provide a good overview of his life. Several exhibits in adjacent rooms enhance the visit. Easy walk (3 blocks) from the...More

Enjoyed the visit to this museum and a glimpse into Strindberg's life and his collections and life in 20th century Sweden. Worth a visit even if you are not interested in the man himself.

To begin with it is easy to walk past the Blue Tower but it gave me the opportunity to use the swedish I have been learning to ask where it was. The lift that transported me up to the 4th floor was cute and the...More

Great little museum in honour of August Strindberg, writer, artist, chemist etc. The museum house the apartment where he spent his last years, his library and a smaller exhibition covering various themes. You don't have to be a huge Strindberg fan to enjoy it, it...More

It's one of those places that people need to visit to begin or enhance their understanding of Strindberg's place in Swedish culture. Tucked away near the top of Drottninggatan, a pedestrianised street with Strindberg quotes in brass letters set into the road surface, and with...More

The museum is small but carefully organized, and includes the well preserved last living quarters of this prolific, complex and controversial writer, painter, photographer, and pseudo-scientist. A particularly good job is done to connect Strinberg's writing with his life story. While most displays are in...More

First of all I would like to say that the apartment part of the museum is great, just like walking into this amazingly talented man's home. But the exhibition (the signs and videos) are all in Swedish, so unless you book a guide there is...More

Located on one of Stockholm's most famous shopping streets (Queen's Street). In a pedestrian area where the small shops are far more interesting than the brand stores on the same street, closer to the railway station. Some good coffee shops around. Great building, fantastic elevator,...More
