We took a two-year-old to the library here and he loved it. Not only are there wonderful books for him to enjoy but the environment is fun and allows him to jump around and burn off some energy between books.

I love this area. It’s calm and airy in the winter. I usually sit in one of the work spaces in the library (top floor) and after I am done I take a walk. The library is such a vivid house filled with life.

Went in to have coffee and cake and warm up after visiting the castle. Good coffee and chocolate muffin, from among a large selection of cakes. Many tables along glass fronted side of building overlooking the harbour. Blankets provided on seats.

Absolutely delightful spot. Interesting sculptures along the water. Nice, open library with interesting projects, comfortable spaces, small Shakespearean area, great views.

Interesting space to drink coffee (free filter refills!) and watch the world go by. Very calming. Also did a delicious decaf soya latte.
