Children's author Hans Christian Andersen, known as H.C. in Denmark, has been immortalized next to Copenhagen's City Hall. He's holding a book and cane and has a well-worn lap from all the children (of all ages) who have sat on his knees.

This lovely statue of the well-known fairytale writer is right next to the city hall. The statue of the Little Mermaid, one of his famous stories, can be found near the Citadel.

Much bigger than I expected and can be surrounded by a lot of tourists but there are quieter times. Worth a visit if not only to take a photo.
