In chilly winter/early spring the costumes are fine, not very colorful, but they look warm. Must be less fitting under scorching sun in the summer. Nice tradition to watch.

There's no security and you can just walk into the palace grounds to watch the changing of the guard. Copenhagen is a wonderful city with lots to see.

Get there at 11.45. Take pictures to the standing gaurds all along the corners of this elegant and beautiful square, surrounded by four wonderful palaces. Guard started at 11.55, so dont wait midday to be there. Get your camera ready, and enjoy !

Very similar to the Royal Palace in London only here you can get right up close to the 'action'. The Guards do a great job marching around looking the part.

Always attractive and joyful to see each country tradition. We loved this ritual as long as we do not have it in our culture and it is kind of novelty for us.

A really good spectacle to watch and you can get up close. The guards walk through the streets from one palace to the other.

The guards are very well turned out, and are regular soldiers we were advised, the marching is also very precise and commands very clear.

Every single day at 12:00 the Queen's guards change shift. I'm still guttered that they do it every day. It's a must see I think, very interesting and fun to watch
