This is a very different Church, with a small number of pews and then galleries in a horseshoe shape around. The Pulpit is also well above the ground, in the middle of the altarpiece. Understandably, this is known as the Theatre Church. Unfortunately, access is...More

it has small altar and one of the instrument was built above altar and there are free floors -up on third and second floor is like separate boxes where you can sit and here. Also haven't seen before in church huge glass chandeliers.

The Location is a among the appartemnts (houses) so you will not notice it easily. We saw the tower from the station so we just walked to find the church and I'm happy that I did it. It's busy with renovation. When we were inside...More

The square interior of this church, with galleries of stalls, is more like an 18th-century theatre or opera-house than a church -- quite unusual, in my experience. The crypt has rows and rows of coffins. Just outside in an adjacent building there is a well-maintained...More

Copenhagen seems full of interesting churches - and each one is quite different. This one is quite dominating if you come over the nearby bridge to Christianshaven Island. It's worth walking the extra two blocks to take a look.

Just across one of the many bridges from Indre By,
you’ll find Christianshavn. An eclectic area with old

some of which has been turned into restaurants or even
