Yes I am sure engineering wise it was very difficult and expensive to make with many man hours consumed in the planning of this bridge but in person it just appeared average to me and not so spectacular or impressive. But it is a scenic...More

There was a lot of fuss about its opening, but I don't see anything unusual or interesting in the bridge itself. Still, a great spot to see the waterways of Copenhagen and connecting two very interesting neighbourhoods.

The tour guide on the canal boat tour called this the "kissing bridge" because the sections seem to "kiss" each other. I must confess that I took that as a sign to kiss my wife and traveling companion as we passed underneath the span.

I nice bridge crossing the water from the opera house side over to Nyhavn. What I crossed here it was people performing and it was a nice place to walk slowly and look at the city life. Great view of the harbour

Though not apparent at first glance, this is in fact a "draw bridge". The bridge retracts back upon it's self rather than lifts. It connects the two haves of the tourist district of the city. Just be aware of the bicycles, they are ruthless if...More

I can begin to count the number of times the opening of this bridge has been postponed. Even when it finally opened, some weeks ago, it was haunted by trouble. But now it's here and it's working. It's sliding construction is quite novel and has...More

We first saw this bridge from our tour boat and it looked pretty interesting. Most people use the more common Sliding Bridge name. Our guide told us about all the problems they had with the design. This award winning bridge slides open instead of the...More

I think this bridge was really needed. Now you can quickly get from Nyhavn to Christianshavn. Also we witnessed the moment the bridge was opening to pass the coming boat through. Amazing.

When we were told of 'the Kissing Bridge' I thought 'What a marvelous engineering feat to have metal come together like this'. Then seeing it I understood why there were so many issues. It is a construction that the Denmark should be proud and one...More
