Charming tiny island
Feb 2020 • Family
Even in winter with heavy rain and stormy wind, Ærø is a charming island. Typical old houses, colourful doors and sandy beaches with colourful tiny houses. Enjoyabke walks along the coast among sheeps, horses and birds.

Aero Island | Colourful, Beautiful & Very Relaxing
Sep 2019
Aero Island is a great place to visit and if you have a car, using the ferry is easy. Going over we took the ferry from Svendborg and then leaving the next day, we departed from Soby. The ferry was on time, there is food available on board with healthy options and free wifi. The windows weren't that clean but oh well, what an one expect when traversing across water:) We booked online and easily updated our the rego of our hire car when it was known. Aero Island is absolutely fantastic. The place to go if you want to chill out. It wasn't packed with tourists in September and some eateries weren't open but it didn't impact our stay. Lovely friendly people and the houses are just a must to see - so many photographs! It takes 30 minutes to drive to the other end of the island. Definitely well worth the visit and an overnight stay. If you want to relax a bit more, then stay for 2 nights. Thoroughly Enjoyed it.

Beautiful, but come in season and do not bring a dog.
Sep 2019 • Couples
In September a lot of restaurants are closed and the ones that are open do not allow dogs. Even the Irish Pub. Very unfortunate because we wanted to cuddle up inside somewhere with a steaming hot cup of tea and have nice dinners. Also icecreamshops are already closed. Next time we will go somewhere else. I love Aeroe, but not when you want to bring a dog.

A little pearl
Aug 2019
Ærø is a lovely island.
The island is characterized by its past in shipping - it still has the Navigator School, where Danish masters are educated.
The island has a beautiful nature and the residents are very welcoming.
Take a few days off and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere

Beautiful place for a weekend.
Jul 2019
We absolutely loved our stay on Aero. We stayed in Mastral and wonderful family friendly hostel, and spent the day exploring this quaint place. We then drove to Ærøskøbing for dinner and enjoyed a beautiful sunset on the beach. Ærøskøbing has lots to offer history and architecture buffs. We had glorious weather, which is something I can’t guarantee others will have while visiting.

Fairytale Island
Jul 2019 • Friends
I have been to Aero Island four times, and will recommend this Island for a nice holiday. There is so many hidden gems and nice places too see and visit. It is possible to rent bikes on the Island, and the bus is free so it is easy to get around.

Traveling from one Danish Island to another

Wonderful way to travel around Denmark. Everyone is friendly, helpful but very efficient loading both on and off the ferry! Food on the ferry is good too!

Denmark's 'Fairytale' Island.

What a wonderful island, full of gingerbread buildings in Ærøskøbing to the delightful timber beach houses to the wonderful and helpful residents that go out of their way to be accommodating to visitors...oh, and it has an Irish Bar!

We Can't Stay Away!
May 2018 • Family
We have reservations for our 4th trip to Aero this summer. It is THE most charming place in Denmark. All the old doors down the cobble stone streets and the beach fishing huts are so picturesque. Perfect place to take your family Christmas card pictures!

The sunny island!
Jun 2018 • Friends
Aero is sunny and colourful. The inhabitants say it has its own micro-climate, making it the sunniest place in Denmark. What I can surely say it's that it has a very relaxed atmosphere and lovely landscapes! But beware: the island is quite big so one day is certainly not enough!
