Worth to visit only for the view. The day we visited tower was closed so we just took few photos with the view of Thessaloniki and then left and return back to the city.

We only stopped briefly to take in the view but I believe you can visit a bit more if you want to - it was free to see the view and was quite busy at sunset, but still fine to take pictures etc.

What a vibe! What a breathtaking view of the city! Belongs to Unesco monuments. A must see in Thessaloniki!

Amazing view of the city. Grab a beer and a suvlaki or something and sit there an chill looking down at the city and enjoying some grade-A ancient ruins.

Enjoy the excellent view from the top! You can also walk around some of the interior. Doesn't take long, a nice 30 minute stop.

The price is 6 euros, but it's free if you are EU citizen under 25, which luckily my girlfriend and I were but there is nothing really in the tower, only a couple of empty rooms and the view is better from outside the tower becouse the crown of the tower is very high. Would be very dissapointed if I paid 6 euros for that.

This place is worth visiting for the beautiful view of the city. It has an interesting history but all we know is from the Internet, as no documentation is available on the site.No brochure, not even a panel with explanations about the history and significance of the place. In other places in the city I complained about the information being available only in Greek, here not even Greek language information is available.

For a wonderful walk, start in the lower section of the city walls and hole to the citadel for a fantastic panoramic view of the sunset across the Thermaic Gulf.

Great walk and tour around this area and the magnificent tower structure before getting a well deserved meal down the street.

We took a taxi from the seafront that cost us 4 euros & saved us a 45 minute walk in the heat.Due to covid most of it was shut off but the view from the top is wonderful. The ticket also covers the Heptapyrgion 15 minutes further up hill.So my tip is to get a taxi to drop you off at the Heptapyrgion-buy the joint ticket & see that first-then walk 15mins downhill to the tower. Its then about 30mins downhill back to the city centre-we called in at the Vlatadan Monastery on the way & meant to see the Byzantine baths but they were shut on a Monday. There was a lovely bakery on the street before the baths turnover which sold lovely biscuits & the boy serving was very helpful.
