Maleme's claim to fame! there is certinly nothing else to go to Maleme for it's a scruffy dirty little place. The beach is an eye along with the tacky bars and restaurants. really need to get it's self sorted out.

Very moving experience. The cemetery is about 2'm outside maleme, overlooking the airfield. You can't help but be moved by the rows of graves in this well maintained cemetery.

We walked up to the cemetery it takes about 30 minutes. Make sure you take some water. It's well worth it. Beautifully kept fab views and very sobering & emotional. There is a cafe up there if you run out of water.

I always wanted to visit Meleme airfield, the site of a small bloody battle in WW2. Over looking the site of the battle is the German war cemetery. Sombre and moving worth seeing in conjunction with the Souda Bay Commonwealth cemetery. Good parking and some...More

I was staying nearby and it was a bit of a climb up the hill to view the graves. There is a small information room.
