I just love this place because the shops mingle with the restaurants and pubs to give the tourist a one-of-a-kind experience. I have to pass by this place every time I’m at Athens and I definitely recommend it to others.

This is a lively place at the foot of the Acropolis. The place is full of cafeterias, squares, trees, churches and innumerable shops. Tourists are all over the place and some end up buying their handicrafts, souvenirs, silverware or gold ware from shops here. Nice...More

Any trip to Athens must include a visit to the Plaka. It is full of shops selling souvenirs by friendly locals. You will see for yourself however that a lot of the stuff is just mass produced and identical in every shop. If you want...More

Great area for a drink after a long day of touring the city. The area hasa cool vibe, I recommend ordering a drink where you can sit outside on the steps.

You could eat almost anywhere in the neighborhood. Yes, it is a bit touristy, but very charming overall. We walked there a number of times.

we ate quite a bit earlier, but the streets and restaurants were packed and didn't seem to be shitting down anytime soon. Enjoy!

take your pick from many, we had wine in one, then walked to another for eats, then on to another for Turkish coffee, then pastry to another.
