We went not particularly to see the church, but rather to have lunch and take in the panoramic view at the top of the hill. Indeed it was beautiful like all greek orthodox churches. It is rather small but its probably not meant to serve...More

Learned about this little gem from taxi driver. There are 3 restaurants at the top of this mountain just below the chapel. The best things are the view, breeze and no hoards of people. This monastery is a delightful part of your ATHENS itinerary. We...More

We took the touristic approch with cable-car ( very slow and pricy ), walking through the monopoly of the restaurant on the hill ( pay per view ) and finally arrived at this tiny little church. Church done in a minute and then enjoyed the...More

The Chapel of Saint George is located at the top of the highest hill in Athens - Mount Lycabettus! If your visiting Mount Lycabettus to take in the famous view of Athens it is definitely worth a quick look inside this tiny whitewashed church

The chapel is on one of the hills of Athens and I would like to say that the church itself looks big from outside and as you go in you discover that is a small church. Also as you go in you discover that there...More

This little white chapel is dedicated to St. Georges, and is constructed right on the rocky point of the top, you can see still some rocks, and I visited it on the hight of Lycabettus hill, you can light a candle and have a wish;...More

Worth the visit but only if you have the time. Other than the chapel and a restaurant, there isn’t much up there. No doubt the view of Athens is great from up there, the similar 360 view of Athens city can also be seen from...More

Im not really a church person so only popped my head around the door as my wife had gone in to light a candle, very small but spectacular views from outside, where there are also a couple of "tat" vendors.

By far the ritziest neighborhood in town, Kolonaki is
home to most of the chic boutiques and designer label

dressing in their finest and spending hours in the
trendy cafés around Kolonaki Square, sipping the most
expensive coffee in Europe. The area also contains a
couple of notable museums and cultural institutions,
which add to the air of nobility. The leafy upper

We had a leisurely walk up through the park and actually stopped half way for a bit of lunch ! Not too hard a walk or you can catch a Taxi to near the top or the cable car/funicular to the Restaurant nearby.
