The problem is there is no explanation of who this gent in the statue actually is. Located next to the National Historical Museum in a square with trees for shade.

A statue honoring Theodoros Kolokotronis, who was a Greek general and a leader in Greek's independent war. He is considered to be a known war hero.

You can easily find your way to this statue, depending on which way you follow. If you start from Monastiraki Square, then turn right and walk, about five blocks, down Ermou street. At Voulis street turn left. Two blocks down turn right into Kolokotroni Street...More
