The Municipal Museum of Ethnography and History is a museum of maritime and ethnographic vocation, which is located in an old emblazoned house called Solar dos Carneiros. It was the residence of Visconde de Azevedo. This house has been build into the 17th century and became a museum in the year 1937. It is one of the oldest ethnographic museums in Portugal, However, it also possessed sacred art from the primitive mother church (16th century), collection of bail bonds (16th to 19th centuries) and archaeological pieces such as the Roman inscriptions of Beiriz. They kept closed a smal part of the museum due to the Covid 19 rules. But anyhow you should visit this small but lovely museum!…
